The Forum was co-organized by UNESCO, the Chinese National
Commission for UNESCO and the Educational Management Information Centre of the
Chinese Ministry of Education, with the support of Weidong Group, as an
immediate step to implement the Qingdao Declaration, adopted at the
International Conference on ICT and Post-2015 Education (Qingdao, China, 23 to
25 May 2015).
The Forum aimed at formalize the global partnership for the
operationalization of the Qingdao Declaration, identify main lines of action,
and set up the operational strategies for cooperation.
The outputs of the Forum included an agreement on the proposed
Global Alliance for Qingdao Declaration and the action plan for following-up
activities.
The objectives of the Conference are to:
1.
map
out the major programs of key partners on leveraging ICT to achieve Education
2030 and find synergy for cooperation;
2.
Discuss the working mechanism of a global
alliance for Qingdao Declaration to guide international cooperation towards
Education 2030;
3.
Develop
the mid-term action plan for the global alliance including main lines of
action, funding sources, and implementation strategies.
The forum convened high-level representatives of international and regional organizations, ICT industries, NGOs, online education providers, major ICT in education communities, and eminent researchers.
