ACEA participation in the Fifth Global Education and Skills Forum in Dubai, 18 and 19 March 2017

The Arab Campaign for Education for All represented by the education coalitions representatives and the Secretariat of the Arab Campaign for Education participated in the 5th Global Education & Skills Forum that was held for two days  in 18 and 19 March 2017 in Dubai.

The forum was organized by Varkey Foundation and under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai.The best teacher in the world has been announced during the Forum - the Canadian teacher, Ms.Maggie McDonnell. The forum was launched by the presence of representatives from the Ministries of Education from all over the world and focused on the importance of education and the need to provide quality education to build generations capable of developing themselves with new skills.

Vikas Pota –the CEO Of Varkey said that "This year is one of the most important years in terms of education, especially since the reality of education in the world has been significantly affected by changes that have taken place especially in the Arab worldâ€‌ . He also emphasized the need to give education and the teacher the utmost importance and the allocation of larger budgets by governments in favor of education in all its forms.

In addition, Mr.Pota addressed Varkey’s prize, which is awarded annually to the best teacher who introduces the educational process with different and unconventional skills, and that 20,000 teachers from all over the world submitted the prize this year until Varkey reached to the top 10 teachers. And mentioned that the winner will win the one million dollar.

During the forum, a partnership was signed between Varkey Foundation and Teacher Creativity Center located in Palestine, to be responsible for this award in the Arab world. 

On this occasion, Refaat Al-Sabbah, The General Director of The Teacher Creativity Center (TCC), expressed his happiness with this partnership, emphasizing that this partnership will increase the level of responsibility on TCC. And Palestine will remain the trustworthy for all the international organizations in the field of education and creativity.
