The Arab Campaign for Education for All held a Training Workshop on the “Financial Management” within its objectives of building skills of coalitions who are participating in the CSEF Project. The Training was held for five days during the period from 19-21 of October 2013 in Amman.
The Workshop was held with participation of the financial officials of the Educational Coalitions in several countries that include Yemen, Sudan, Albania, Georgia, Moldova, and Somalia in addition to the Secretariat of the Arab Campaign for Education in Jordan and Palestine, and the Financial Officer of the International Campaign for Education and CSEF Project and the Financial Officer of the Arab Campaign for Education.
The
workshop includes a presentation on CSEF project and its governance
structure and CSEF Structure in the Region (Middle East and Eastern Europe),
besides the roles of GCE as FMA (interim) and ACEA as Regional Secretariat.
Moreover, it presented the ways of working and the Coalition Governance Structure
(Secretariat, Coalition members and the Board). Furthermore, the Training
Workshop clarified the Financial Management in details which includes, CSEF
financial guidelines, CSEF financial reporting templates and agreed reporting
time-frames, Planning and budget monitoring and internal control systems.
The second day included a presentation on Grant management and compliance, Procurement procedures, Managing audits, MEEE Capacity Building Plan, Feedback on April-June financials reports, Review the financial assessment forms submitted by all Coalitions and in the end of the day the participant shared their experiences in this field.
The last day of the workshop presented the action plan and the importance of moving forward. Also, it introduced the cost effectiveness in the project.
