The Arab Campaign for Education for All
held a Training workshop on “Five Steps Towards Effective Strategy on Advocacy
Campaigns”, which aimed to enhance the
strategic and tactical capacity of the NGOs working on human rights when doing
advocacy campaigns.
The Training workshop was held in Amman, for five days during the period from 23-27 of October 2013. With participation of the coordinators of Education coalitions and the advocacy officers of coalitions in several countries that include Yemen, Sudan, Somalia, Albania, Georgia, Moldova besides the Secretariat of the Arab campaign for Education in Jordan and Palestine and the International campaign for Education.
The Training Workshop aimed in specific to introduce and use the “5 Steps Strategic Effectiveness”
methodology and to build skills in using tools for building effective strategies
and selection of tactics as well as to acquire a way to identify relevant
actors and relationships, and expand the range of potential allies, and to
share and build awareness of a wide variety of tactic.
The Training workshop included an overview of the definition of Advocacy Campaigns, Strategy and Tactics in addition to presenting the “Five Steps towards an effective strategy on Advocacy Campaigns” that includes :the first step "identify the problem"; the second step "build a vision"; the third step "know the terrain"; the forth step "Change Path and explore and choose tactic; and finally the fifth step "develop a plan of Action".
The participants
emphasized on the importance of this training, that gave them a clear and
integrated methodology about campaigns management in a new and effective way.
