In an extraordinary step, the Yemeni
Coalition for Education has succeeded in signing assurance document that criminalizes
the prevention of girl’s education with the people and senators of Hamadan
directorate. This document gives the girls’ of Hamadan directorate their right
in education and turns it into a duty after it was forbidden for them. And
hereby this document the girl’s prevention of education is becoming a tribal
blemish in Hamadan area, which is considered to be one of the important
entrances to the capital city of Sanaa’.
The document has been signed during a n event
that was organized and planned by the Yemeni coalition For Education for all, in
13 of February 2014, with the presence of the Secretary General of UNESCO
Professor Dr. Ahmad Al-Moamari, and the representative of Save the
children association Iftikar Al- Shamiri, and with the presence of several social
figures, led by the Council of Representative member Dean Mohammad Al-Haweri, member
of the Consultative Council Professor Yahia Al-Habari, the general director of
the directorate Jobran Ghober. Moreover, a number of Hamadan residents
participated in this ceremony, who demanded the official figures to build
schools in their area on lands that are provided by the parents themselves.
This reflects their eagerness on having educated children; boys or girls.
The Secretary General of the Yemeni
Coalition Professor Issam AL-Olfi declared that this signed document about
girls education, has delivered after continuous hard working, to deliver our message
in a practical way. AL-Olfi noted that girl’s education is our future priority
in the Yemeni Coalition for Education for all.
Within the event, several awareness
speeches have been presented that support girl’s education. Professor Al-Habari donated by one million
Pound to Hamadan directorate as way of supporting girl’s education. The people
of Hamadan were very pleasure of this positive event, which brought a lot of
positive energy to their hearts. This event was covered by number of local and
international media, within the media coverage of the first event of the Yemeni
Coalition for Education in 2014.
