The Arab Campaign for Education for All-ACEA, in cooperation with the Arab Network for Civic Education-ANHRE and the Global Campaign for Education-GCE, held a regional training workshop on “Result-based Project Planning and Management” within the Civil Society Education Fund-CSEF, which aimed to build the capacity of the education coalitions on result-based planning, management and monitoring and evaluation.
The workshop was held in Amman, for seven days during the period
from 23-29 of March 2014. The coordinators of Education coalitions in several
countries from Yemen, Sudan, Albania, Georgia, and Moldova attended the
workshop. In addition to the Secretariat of the Arab campaign for Education in
Jordan and Palestine and the Global Campaign for Education
The Workshop aimed in specific to Increased the knowledge
and skills of participants in result-based planning, management, monitoring and
evaluation, Develop common understanding various terms used in project design, monitoring
and evaluation, enhance the capacity of trainees to manage, monitor and evaluate
current and future projects, and strengthen the skills of trainees in report
writing.
The Training workshop included an introduction about project
design and result-based planning, practical exercises on project goals design,
identifying indicators and means of verification, developing work plans, monitoring
and evaluation plans, and reporting. The workshop was an opportunity for
exchanging experience and sharing lessons among participants from different
countries.
The participants emphasized on the importance of the training
workshop that guided them to discover the strengths and weaknesses in their
current projects. They confirmed that they will redesign their projects
according to the methodology they received during the workshop. They, also,
emphasized on the importance of monitoring and evaluation methods that were
introduced during the training which are essential to follow up on the track of
the project and measure its effectiveness in achieving the desired goals. The
participants appreciated the efforts paid by the Arab Campaign for Education for
All and the Global Campaign for Education to build the capacity of coalitions
through these workshops to contribute to improving the status of education.
