Launching Global Action 2014 Week in Somalia

Somalia campaigners have introduced new tactics to increase awareness of the community and advocate for the rights of children with disabilities. Somali Coalition member organization named Disability and Development Center (DDC) with their disabled children paid a visit to several schools in Somalia, particularly in Puntland zone to get other pupils in schools more influenced in the advocacy of the educational rights of children with disabilities.  DDC had the chance to directly talk with the community and the pupils to persuade them support the disabled children who were marginalized from education. One quick success story is that all visited schools promised next 5 years to provide free primary education to 10 disabled children per school, particularly children with moderate disability who are mentally fit. We are expecting to double efforts and engage more community members during our coming activities of radio debates and the coming press release conference forum.
