Arab Campaign for Education for All participates in the 5th MENIT Regional Workshop on "Education in Emergencies"- November 2014

The Arab Campaign for Education for All participated in 5^th MENIT Regional Workshop on "Education in Emergencies" that was conducted in Amman-Jordan during the period November 29- December 2014. The inauguration ceremony was conducted on November 29, 2014 in Haya Cultural Center, followed by 2-day workshop during November 30 – December 1, 2014 in Le Meridian Hotel. 

This workshop also was conducted in participation of the Regional Initiative for Adult Education Advocacy (4As) the Arab Network for Literacy and Adult Education, the Arab Network for Popular Education, the Arab Campaign for Education for All, and the Arab Network for Civic Education (ANHRE), in addition to DVV International and MENIT.

The topic of this workshop "Education in Emergencies" was chosen by because all MENIT countries are exposed to emergency cases either directly or as host countries for refugees, which affect the function and regularity of educational processes, and the Ministries of Education as well as numerous international and non-governmental organizations in these countries develop programs and initiatives for education in emergencies as response to the needs of their countries.

The workshop included presentation for innovative programs and educational initiatives for emergency cases, as well as showcasing experiences and exchanging them with peers. Thus, the approach of these initiatives is being developed and disseminated further, strengthening their use.

The most important pillars of the workshop are provision of safe learning environment and psychosocial support for learners in cases of emergency, teachers training and application of technology, development of curricula, materials and educational resources.

On the other hand, the steering committee members of MENIT were elected including eight members from Palestine, Jordan, Syria, and Lebanon.
